Transitions, Recreation & Life Skills

Therapeutic recreation and life skills services at Holland Bloorview are designed to maintain and improve the health and quality of life for children with disabilities. A variety of services provide clients with "real life" training and experiences that help them in their daily interactions with friends, at home, in school and in the community.

In one-to-one or group sessions, clients are assisted in developing practical life skills such as planning and preparing a meal, banking or accessing transportation. Through participation in recreational activities and life skills training, clients gain the independence and skills to support their transition to adulthood.

*Clients and families do not need a physician referral – clients and families can self-refer to the service.
