Dale Ponder is Co-Chair of the law firm Osler, and also serves on the Firm’s Partnership Board. She is the immediate past National Managing Partner and Chief Executive partner for the Firm, a position she held for nine years. As a senior member of the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice, she has had extensive experience throughout her career leading transactions relating to public and private merger and acquisition matters and advising boards of public companies.
Dale’s practice background has focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation and corporate governance. She has represented Canadian market leaders in various industry sectors with cross-border and international business interests, including the ﬁnancial services, mining, consumer and pension plan sectors. In the course of her practice, she has been recognized as a leading corporate and M&A lawyer by various peer ranking publications, including Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, the Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert’s Leading Corporate Lawyers and Best Lawyers in Canada.
Dale has spoken extensively on leadership in professional services industries and has been recognized repeatedly as one of WXN’s Top 100 Powerful Women in Canada (and was a 2017 Top 100 Hall of Fame inductee) and as one of the Top 25 by Canada’s Women of Inﬂuence organization. She was the recipient of the 2017 Toronto Lawyers Association Award of Distinction, the 2016 Israel Cancer Research Fund Business Award of Distinction and a 2013 Lexpert Zenith award. Dale also received a “Lifetime achievement” award in 2018, in connection with the Euromoney Legal Media Group Americas Women in Business Law Awards.
Dale is a member of the boards of Morneau Shepell, the Governors’ Council of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation, the CGCA Advisory Board and the Caldwell Partners Top 40 Under 40 Advisory Board. She is also Chair of the Canadian Business Growth Fund and a mentor in the Women’s Executive Network.
Dale joined the Holland Bloorview Board in June 2018 and is a member of the Quality Committee.
