Holland Bloorview’s Volunteer Facts

• More than 1000 people volunteer throughout the year
• Volunteers are active on a weekly basis from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. seven days a week
• In addition to English, in an average year, volunteers are able to speak more than 60 different languages and come from across the Greater Toronto Area
• Volunteers represent more than 140 educational facilities
• Direct service volunteers contribute more than 48,000 hours annually
• 96 to 100% of volunteers have a rewarding experience at Holland Bloorview
• Over 70% of new volunteers are personally referred to Holland Bloorview, 15% via the Internet and 5% are media referrals
