Monday through Friday

8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Specialized Orthopedic and Developmental Rehab (SODR) nursing Unit clients are ages 0 to 18 years. These clients have been admitted to Holland Bloorview to obtain rehabilitation (often post-surgical) with a variety of musculoskeletal, developmental or neuromotor conditions.

This position includes learning opportunities in the following areas:

Under the supervision of the Clinical Leader and/or Clinical Educator and guidance of a Registered Practical Nurse, the student will:

  • Provide 1:1 social interaction with clients, especially during meals
  • Assist with basic care for clients under supervision.
  • Assist staff with clerical duties

Students may also have the opportunity to learn about and assist the work of Child and Youth Workers and/or Child Life Specialists.
