Dolly and Crystal’s Stories

Dolly was a client at Bloorview as a child but when she turned 18, she was on her own to put into place the array of services she needed within the adult system.   As a consequence, Dolly says her health, “deteriorate[d] well past the point [she] was upon discharge from Bloorview.”

Bloorview worked collaboratively with Toronto Rehab to create the LIFESpan Clinic – a program developed to address the fact that many of our clients do not meet admission criteria for traditional adult rehab or complex care programs.

Crystal is one of the young adults who has benefited from the LIFESpan Clinic. Commenting on the benefits of the program, she says, “LIFESpan is helpful because now I have somewhere to continue my health services.”
