Social workers are professionally trained to support children, teens, young adults and families to cope with the impact of illness, disability, complex health needs and trauma. Social workers provide parents/caregivers with emotional support at various key points in their child’s development, for example the time around diagnosis, during school years or at points of hospitalization. Social Workers are also available in helping adjust to adolescence and transitioning to young adulthood.
