Respite Care

The respite care service supports families by providing short-term, inpatient care for children with disabilities or complex medical needs.

Respite care is provided to children from birth to age 18 who have physical and/or developmental disabilities and require nursing care.

Families may access up to six weeks of respite care each calendar year.

During peak periods, including school and summer holidays, the number of days may be limited to allow the maximum number of children and youth to access the service.

Please note: A daily fee is charged for respite care.
