Programs & Services

Ronald McDonald Playroom

The Ronald McDonald playroom is a supervised "fun zone" for children to play and relax.

It provides families with:

  • A supervised place to leave their children while they consult with doctors and therapists privately.
  • A chance to research information in the Family Resource Centre.
  • The opportunity to take a much needed coffee break before or after an appointment!

This service is offered to:

  • Clients visiting Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital for a clinic, doctor’s appointment or consultation.
  • Siblings of these clients.
  • Clients and their siblings must be age 2 ½ years and up.

The Playroom offers developmentally and age appropriate activities, including:

Ball Pool; Nintendo fun centre; Arts & Crafts; Games & Puzzles; Sand Table; Play Kitchen; Train Table; Music & Instruments, Book Corner, Movies

Hours of Operation


Monday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Tuesday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Wednesday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Thursday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Friday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30

Booking is limited to a maximum of 2 hours when the playroom is busy.

Parents are given a pager to notify them if they are needed in the playroom.

This is a free, drop-in service, but caregivers or staff can call or email ahead of time to book a spot for their child.
