Programs & Services

Ronald McDonald Playroom

The Ronald McDonald playroom is a supervised "fun zone" for children to play and relax.

It provides families with:

  • a place to leave their child and siblings in order to consult with doctors and therapists
  • a chance to research information in the Resource Centre or Library
  • the opportunity for a much needed coffee break!

This service is offered to:

  • clients visiting Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital for a clinic, doctor’s appointment or consultation
  • siblings of clients
  • age 2 ½ years and up

The Playroom includes:

Ball pool; Nintendo fun centre; Sony Play Station; Arts & Crafts; Games & puzzles; Bean bag chairs; Sensory table; Play Kitchen; Train Table; Book Corner

Hours of Operation


Monday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Tuesday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Wednesday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Thursday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30
Friday: 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:30

Booking is limited to a maximum of 2 hours.

Parents are given a pager to notify them if they are needed in the playroom.

Arrangements can also be made by staff to book the playroom for evenings and weekends for special Holland Bloorview events. Please give 72 hours notice for bookings outside of regular playroom hours.
