"I am an individual who had polio as a child….  In November 2001, I was in a car accident and suffered an injury to my stronger limb. The orthotist at Bloorview listened carefully, examined my mobility and was interested in facilitating a team approach to exploring further options.

The team created a more rigid brace to help my left foot/ankle and leg and a new orthotic to help my right foot. Together with these supportive devices and physiotherapy, I am now regaining some walking with assistive devices. The orthotist used talented skills to help me try to maximize recovery of my mobility, help in my rehabilitation and to help me get my life back."
