Interpreter Services

Clients and families have access to professional interpreter services provided by Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital at no cost to clients and families when attending appointments at Holland Bloorview.

Holland Bloorview aims to provide the most appropriate and highest quality language service to clients and families who receive care at Holland Bloorview and whose English is limited or who are hearing impaired.

Holland Bloorview only permits the use of trained interpreters provided through our resources.

The primary function of an interpreter is to translate conversations where medical information that is necessary to provide treatment is being exchanged between a health-care provider and clients and families.

If you are a new client of Holland Bloorview and require an interpreter for your visits here, please notify Client Appointment Services at 416-424-3823 or 1-877-666-3823.

Advance notification is required as interpreters are scheduled as far in advance as possible to ensure we can provide the service for you. Once Client Appointment Services has been informed that you require an interpreter, one will be provided for you at every physician visit until we are otherwise informed.

Holland Bloorview must provide our interpreter service provider with a minimum of 24 hours notice if an appointment change or cancelation is needed. Please inform Holland Bloorview as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an appointment.
