Infant Development Services

The Infant Development Service

  • Serves children from 0 to 5 years old who are identified as having an established risk of developmental delay and disabilities, including physical, neurological and prematurity.
  • Serves children and families in the Toronto region.

Infant consultants and therapists provide a home-based, integrated approach to infant development and family-centred intervention that is:

  • parent-led;
  • responsive to parent strengths, competencies and priorities;
  • includes :
    • developmental programming support
    • parent education
    • play strategies
    • community information and links.

The Infant Development Service also operates 0-2 Babies Program

  • which serves infants from 3 months to 2 years and their parents/primary caregivers;
  • is offered once per week on Tuesdays or Fridays;
  • involves sensory and motor play and music in a child-centred atmosphere; is a fee for service program;
  • integrates children with and without special needs.

Referrals

A referral is required to access this service. Referrals can come from doctors, hospitals, parents and therapists.

Please Note: Registration with this service does not facilitate access to other Holland Bloorview services.
