Child Development Program: Toronto East General Hospital

The Community-based Child Development Team at the Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH) is an interdisciplinary child development service that provides assessment and diagnosis with a developmental pediatrician, a psychologist, an occupational therapist, and a speech-language pathologist. The Team is a partnership among Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, TEGH and the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services.

This clinic serves children suspected of having developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders or complex developmental concerns who live in east Toronto.

The clinic offers comprehensive service plans that are integrated with existing community services, and help for parents and service providers in understanding the child’s developmental condition.

Referrals

A physician referral is required to access this service.

Other important information: In order to facilitate assessment or diagnosis, where appropriate the child should be referred for an audiogram and eye exam through their family physician.
