We offer a range of respite services to support families.
The overnight respite service, offered by our inpatient program, supports families by providing short-term, inpatient care for children with disabilities or complex medical needs.
Overnight inpatient respite care is provided to children from birth to age 18 who have physical and/or developmental disabilities and require nursing care. See eligibility criteria below.
Inpatient Respite Camp is offered in July and August. It provides clients and families with one week of camp experience, supported by Registered Practical Nurses, Health Care Providers and Therapeutic Recreation staff. The camp is focused on a therapeutic recreational experience while providing the nursing and medical support that the child requires for their activities of daily living. Throughout the week, clients will participate in a number of activities including swimming, arts and crafts, gym sports and time in the playroom. Once clients meet the eligibility criteria are accepted into the respite program, families can apply to have their child participate in the camp through Registration. See eligibility criteria below.

Please note: the availability of overnight respite beds may fluctuate. Variables such as hospital admissions, peak period referrals during school and summer holidays may impact on the availability of beds and days available for respite services. When this happens, we are committed to providing families with as much notice as possible, and the opportunity to reschedule their respite programming.
Note: A daily accommodation fee is charged for overnight respite care. If there are questions regarding this fee, families are encouraged to contact our Family Support Specialist at 425-6220, ext. 3319.
