Music Sensation Josh Groban Meets Holland Bloorview Child Ambassadors and Celebrates Music Therapy
On Monday evening, as fans piled into the Air Canada Centre to see Josh Groban perform in Toronto as part of his “Straight To You” worldwide tour, 30 Holland Bloorview child ambassadors, their family and staff attended the meet and greet backstage to shake hands and take pictures with the multi-platinum singer-songwriter.
Holland Bloorview was selected by Josh’s Find Your Light Foundation to meet the star and enjoy his performance from spectacular seats at the Air Canada Centre. The Find Your Light Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through arts, education and cultural awareness. During his performance, Josh praised Holland Bloorview for its remarkable rehabilitation therapies, brilliant music programs and innovative use of technology to allow children with disabilities to participate and create music. It was a truly proud moment for all of the kids and staff in attendance.
Lisa Young, mother of 7-year-old, Tai, expressed her gratitude to Josh, his Foundation and Holland Bloorview for providing her son with this once in a lifetime opportunity. “Thank you so much for including us,” says Lisa. “It was an amazing experience and I cannot even express how happy Tai was to be there. He wore his concert t-shirt home and probably still has it on today! A very memorable night for me and my boy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
It was an unforgettable night for everyone involved and Holland Bloorview would like to thank Josh Groban and the Find Your Light Foundation for recognizing our efforts to integrate music, creativity and the arts into therapy. The Find Your Light foundation will also be making a donation to the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation to support Holland Bloorview’s adapted music research program.
