Canadian Olympic Medalist, Carol Huynh, pays a visit to Holland Bloorview

Carol Huynh, Olympic wrestler, made a special visit to Holland Bloorview on Thursday August 23. Armed with her bronze medal from the 2012 games and her 2008 Olympic gold, Carol captured the hearts of our clients and families by sharing her story, signing autographs and participating in some fun activities.

Holland Bloorview’s therapeutic recreation program put on an outstanding Olympic event in our gymnasium that included wheelchair basketball, sledge hockey and assisted bowling.

Brothers Joey and Kevin were thrilled to meet an Olympic champion. When asked about their experience, Joey said “She was really nice and let me hold her medals. I was surprised that the bronze was heavier than the gold.”

“It was really cool to hold the gold medal, it was so shiny and cool.” added Kevin.

This amazing event was made possible in partnership with The Holland Bloorview Foundation and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
