Kids with Disabilities Deserve our Care and Concern for their Future
Every child deserves a healthy, rightful and fulfilling place in the world. Kids with disabilities are no different than other children. At Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital we are committed to building a world without barriers for children with special needs. But let’s face it, kids cost more, and they keep growing! Kids with disabilities and complex health-care needs have ongoing and changing needs.
Kids with disabilities don’t necessarily “get better.” They have long-term needs, which can change as they grow into adults. Families living with a child with special needs are also affected. At Holland Bloorview, we are committed to the health of the whole family, and we define health more broadly than in a traditional medical model. At Holland Bloorview, we are interested in wellness, including physical, emotional and mental health.
The basics of health care are paid for by the government, but at Holland Bloorview, we are able to provide a wide range of additional programs, services, research projects and training programs thanks to the generous support of our communities.
Community support allows Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital to maintain a global standard of excellence in inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
