Can't Wait for Camp

To whom it may concern:
I am writing you on behalf of my son Cole who attended the Spokes & Sports camp on the March break.
I must say Cole never wanted to go to camp. I kept telling him he would have fun and learn some new things. He was concerned about someone else doing his catheterization. I dropped him off on Monday morning. I could see how nervous he was, I was just as nervous to let him stay without me. Well I did and when I picked him up at the end of the day he couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel and write his Gramma a letter telling her all about his day (Gramma lives in New Brunswick). Cole was so tired, yet he couldn’t wait for Tuesday morning to come to go back to camp.
Cole played wheelchair basketball, tennis, hockey, he tried a race bike, learned some new wheelchair skills. Cole made friends and they were just like him in a wheelchair. Not that it’s great to be in a wheelchair, but at the age of 6 it's nice to have people just like you that you can look up to. I recall Cole telling me when we came home from camp that he liked his wheelchair, and that he could do lots of stuff that others can't do. He would never have said that before camp. Cole is involved in lots of sports at home, but this camp was so much more to him. Cole never wanted the week to end, we never wanted it to end for him. I remember asking someone if there was going to be one in the summer, but because of funding we were told no. I cannot express how much Cole loved this camp, and how our family loved to see him having so much fun. I’ve never seen him truly enjoy himself so much, and learning the skills he needs as he grows. I hope that the Spokes & Sports camp gets the funds it needs to continue for many more years. We can't wait for the next camp for Cole to go to.
