Living with a Time Bomb in Your Head
“On July 17th 2002, our lives changed forever,” says Bloorview Kids Rehab pharmacist, Anne, and mother to client Liz, “Our healthy, beautiful intelligent 15-year-old daughter had a time bomb explode in her head. The time bomb, it turned out was an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) which she had been born with and we had no knowledge about it. She was as healthy and normal as any other child and there were no clues that it even existed. Her visits to her doctor were usually annual check ups.
