On Monday, November 17th, 2008 Bloorview Kids Foundation hosted its
annual gala, An Evening of Possibility. The intimate and unique culinary experience raised more than $425,000 for Bloorview Kids Rehab. Bloorview is Canada's largest children's rehabilitation and complex continuing care teaching hospital for children with disabilities.
Over two hundred of Toronto’s most influential business and community leaders came out in support of this worthy cause. The event launched the third annual Recipes for Possibility calendar, which features recipes from 13 high-profile chefs from across Canada who generously donated their time and talent in support of Bloorview. Money raised from this year’s calendar initiative will help keep Bloorview at the leading edge of care and support hundreds of children and youth with special needs.
Bloorview is grateful for the financial support of BMO Financial Group as presenting sponsor of the 2009 Recipes for Possibility initiative and also acknowledge the contributions of the talented team at The Globe and Mail who helped produce this year’s calendar.
The gala was hosted by Beverly Thomson of CTV’s Canada AM and began with a champagne reception followed by several spectacular courses. The chefs for the evening included Pascal Ribreau of Celestin, David Lee of Splendido and Nota Bene, Anthony Rose of The Drake, Keith Froggett of Scaramouche and Bruce Woods of Centro. Thanks to the evening beverage sponsor Charton Hobbs, each course was paired perfectly to compliment each dish.
