On Thursday, June 26th hundreds of people from Canada’s financial district put aside their Blackberries to support a great charity. Over 400 people participated in the 9th annual Bike for Tykes event in support of Bloorview Kids Rehab, Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities.
The annual event, proudly sponsored by Bay Street Law Firm, Hicks Morley and in part by the Toronto Athletic Club, took place in the heart of the city in the TD Courtyard. Over 100 teams of four riders pedaled on stationary bikes to upbeat music, while being inspired by some of Toronto's leading spin instructors. Bloorview Child Ambassadors were on hand participating in the event festivities by cheering on the many riders and handing out valuable prizes.
This year’s event raise over $170,000, which will help fund Bloorview’s programs and services, innovative research and technology, respite care, life skills programming, medical training, and adapted equipment to enable children with disabilities achieve their personal best.
