Bike For Tykes Spins to Success In Spite of Rain
The day began early for the Bloorview Ambassadors, clients and families who helped promote the year’s Bike for Tykes by opening the market at the Toronto Stock Exchange. Paul Godfrey, Chairman, Grand Prix Charitable Foundation, Monte Kwinter, MPP York Centre (Grand Prix Foundation), and Charlie Johnstone, President and CEO, Grand Prix Association of Toronto also came out to support this terrific event.
The Grand Prix Bike for Tykes is an annual event for spinning enthusiasts to raise funds for Children's Charities. Led by first class spin instructors, the four person teams spin to upbeat music in the outdoor court of the TD Centre. The bikers are cheered on by Bloorview Ambassadors, their families, and of course, our dedicated volunteers.
The weather didn’t co-operate, but our bikers certainly did! This year’s event was a tremendous success with over 90 teams and over 360 energetic bikers participating to raise approximately $110,000 for Bloorview Kids Rehab, Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital. Thanks to our volunteers and generous donors, this event continues to be a great success!
