Dr. Wedge's clinical interests include reconstructive surgery of the hip in children and young adults, and the management of cerebral palsy. He is an orthopaedic consultant at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, where he conducts a cerebral palsy and spasticity clinic, and also provides telemedicine support for children’s rehabilitation centres in Northern Ontario.
Dr. Wedge is an international authority on complex surgical hip reconstruction in adolescents and has published widely in this area. He is frequently invited to universities and hospitals around the world to speak about hip surgery and related subjects. He has authored more than 90 publications.
Dr. Wedge received the Whittaker Memorial Award in 2003 for service to children with cerebral palsy. He was inducted as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2006. Dr. Wedge joined the Board of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation in 2007 after serving on the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital board for seven years, the last two as Chair.
