No Limits, the Campaign for Childhood Disability is off to a great start thanks to some exceptionally generous donors and our hardworking Campaign Cabinet. To date, the campaign has raised $32 million towards our $80 million goal.
Campaign Chair George Lewis is learning very quickly that Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation has a strong core of loyal donors and volunteers who are committed to creating a world of possibilities for kids with disabilities.
“Everyone involved with Holland Bloorview wants to do more for kids with disabilities and their families. Our donors recognize the needs are urgent and their gifts will make a difference right now. But more than this, donors to the No Limits Campaign are helping to build greater capacity for the future. We’re investing for the long-term, knowing that our gifts will help children today, tomorrow and every day after that,” Lewis said.
It’s the campaign fundraising priorities that have donors, volunteers and staff excited about the future. Holland Bloorview is working on four fronts to provide faster and more effective care for children with disabilities.
We’re putting investments in place to ensure that Holland Bloorview can go anywhere in the world to recruit top talent. We want the most passionate and highly skilled physicians, scientists and allied health leaders to help us improve the experience of care.
We will build up our resources so there will always be funding available to directly support families and integrate their experiences in the care of their children.
Research is having a significant impact in advancing new models of care and innovative technologies. We will put long-term funding in place to recruit and retain worldclass research talent and build up the infrastructure and resources that the Bloorview Research Institute needs to become a world-leading research enterprise.
Teaching the next generation using the most innovative methods and tools will have its greatest impact on children with disabilities and their families. Teaching, informed by research and supported by interprofessional collaboration and simulation-enhanced learning equals better care for the hundreds of thousands of children with disabilities in Canada.
“There really are no limits to putting a donor’s gifts to work. We are confident that as the campaign takes flight more donors and volunteers will join us in being champions for the cause of childhood disability in Canada. The best part of the job for me will be thanking people for all the ways they will help the No Limits Campaign reach its goals, ” said Lewis.
