Youth at Work
Youth @ Work is one of Bloorview Kids Rehab's many programs for youth. It is a program that enables youth with disabilities to gain practical work experience. The program is divided into several parts, the first being a 3-week placement in one of Bloorview’s departments. Such placements include Finance, Recreation, Transportation, and many others.
ICE Conference Speech
No one would ever imagine a skinny little disabled boy who uses his feet for everything could someday find hope for himself and be a successful person. Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Tien Hoang, and I want to say that I’ve came along way from being who I am today. I’ve faced so many problems in my life, and some of them seem to be impossible for me to get through. But, I did get through all of them because I always being myself, I always willing to try my best on everything that I do, and I always believing in myself. That’s what hope is all about, and that’s how you find hope.
ICE Conference
My name is Suchetan Bajaj and I am 27 years of age. This was actually my very first experience at the ICE conference, or any other conference solely for disabled people and I have to say that it was very informative and one of the best events that I have ever attended. I was not expecting to learn as much as I did during the entire weekend. I actually had no idea that there were so many people in Canada and around the world who use an Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) device.
