The FAC – Who We Are?
We are a devoted group of parents and youth which represents the children and families who receive services at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. 

What We Do:

  • Work  with staff to promote family-centered care: putting children and families first
  • Help plan, evaluate and improve services and programs
  • Help develop  parent education sessions
  • Share practical information with other parents and staff
  • Provide a family perspective on Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital sub committees

Who Should Join?

  • Parents of children who receive services at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.

How Often & Where Do We Meet?

  • We meet the last Thursday of every month from 7-9p.m. (September - June) 
  • Free parking & free childcare is available in the Ronald MacDonald Playroom

FAC Achievements:

  • A strong family voice supporting and enhancing client family centered care
  • Helped in the design of Holland Bloorview’s new building and web site
  • Created a  way to order hot meals for parents staying with their children as inpatients
  • Advocated for a wider selection of healthy snacks now in the vending machines
  • Developed a welcome package for new inpatient families
  • Advocated in the development of  the Ronald MacDonald Playroom
  • Teachers of client-family centre care to healthcare students
