Dr. Golda Milo-Manson – Education – 2005

Dr. Golda Milo-Manson’s dedication to education has put Bloorview MacMillan Children’s Centre on the map as providing the largest training program in developmental pediatrics in Canada. In her capacity as coordinator of medical education at Bloorview MacMillan, Golda has the opportunity to teach and train medical students, residents and professionals about developmental pediatric medicine.

Golda has played a critical role in making developmental pediatrics a recognized and accredited subspecialty of pediatrics within the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and in the resident training program at the University of Toronto.

Since 1999, Golda has co-chaired Bloorview MacMillan’s developmental pediatric fellowship program. In addition to Canadian trainees, Bloorview MacMillan trains international students. Golda’s leadership has contributed to establishing internationally recognized standards of practice in developmental pediatrics.

The recipient of several teaching awards, including the Gerstein Teaching Award in 1998, Golda is described as a “supportive and caring mentor.” Golda organizes each resident’s curriculum rotation in the areas of pediatrics, neurology, physiatry and orthopedics so that the individual receives the maximum training possible.
