Awards: 2004 Circle of Honour Recipients

The Toronto Academy of Dentistry – Philanthropy – 2004

The Toronto Academy of Dentistry has been a key supporter of Bloorview MacMillan Children’s Centre for more than 20 years, having raised more than $400,000 through the efforts of dentists who volunteer their time and talents.  Founded in 1890, the Academy is part of an international honour society for dentists dedicated to sharing knowledge, serving dental and oral health needs, and to improving the quality of life of people throughout the world.

The Toronto Academy of Dentistry designates funds raised at its annual golf tournament to Bloorview MacMillan, and on two occasions has also dedicated proceeds from its successful galas to our programs and services. This generosity has enabled the purchase of specialized equipment, such as new ultrasound technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of children with swallowing and feeding disorders.  Academy members are unwavering supporters of the work done at Bloorview MacMillan. It is a valued partnership that we hope will continue to grow into the future.
