Bill and Susanne Holland - Philanthropy - 2006

Bill Holland, CEO of C I Financial Inc., one of Canada’s largest wealth management companies, and his wife Susanne were early supporters of the Help Us Defy Disability Campaign in 2003, showing their support with a generous personal gift. When Bill and Susanne later visited Bloorview Kids Rehab, they brought their daughter with them to show her how Bloorview Kids Rehab makes a difference in the lives of children with disabilities.

Moved by their visit, they offered a generous display of support for our vision to become a national and international leader in pediatric rehabilitation, education, advocacy and research. The Hollands pledged a new gift to Bloorview Kids Rehab in the amount of $5 million dollars.

Bill explained, “When my family and I toured Bloorview, I couldn’t decide which I found more compelling – the children who are courageously dealing with disability in so many different ways, or the professionals who are so dedicated in their work with them. I have seen many health care organizations up close and this is one I am pleased to support, because it works.”

Bill and Susanne Holland have played a leadership role in Bloorview’s largest fundraising campaign and helped Bloorview reach its goal of $45 million. The Holland family has helped children with disabilities and their families lead richer and more independent lives, and we are delighted to be naming a wing of the building in their honour.
