I chose Bloorview because it’s a place where I can combine my passion for working with children and youth with disability, as well as a place where I can practice active family-centered care. My oldest sister has a disability and she has really influenced and shaped the way I practice. I found myself here during my understudy placement and after meeting the social workers here who were so creative in their practice and inspirational mentors, I knew I wanted to be part of this team. Being part of this team I can help families and children and youth with disabilities and support them as my family has been supported.
